

Miguel M. Rodriguez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2025, at the age of 90. He was born on October 22, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas, to Anastasio and Magdalena Rodriguez. Miguel lived a full and meaningful life, marked by love for his family, strong faith, and a spirit of kindness that touched everyone who knew him.
A man deeply rooted in his beliefs, Miguel was actively involved in the Church of the First Born in San Antonio and Temple Bethel. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life, providing him with purpose and peace.
Miguel enjoyed many hobbies that reflected his creativity and love of quiet pastimes. He found great joy in fishing, barbecuing, and spending time with crossword puzzles, word searches, and model kits. He had a gift for mechanics and a curiosity that never faded, often keeping busy with puzzles and small projects. Miguel loved to laugh and was particularly fond of comedy movies. He also had a deep appreciation for music, especially country tunes, and his favorite song was the classic mariachi song "Gema."
He had a soft spot for animals, especially domestic dogs, and spent many peaceful moments feeding the birds in his yard. Miguel also loved good food. Some of his favorites included pizza, clam chowder soup, and a hearty plate of fideo loco—meals often enjoyed in the company of those he loved.
Miguel was preceded in death by his parents, Anastasio and Magdalena Rodriguez, his daughter Sandra Patricia Rodriguez, and his son Roger William Rodriguez.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Rodriguez, who stood by his side throughout their life together. He also leaves behind his sons; Mike Rodriguez (Jan), Ruben Rodriguez (Elvita), Joe Medina (Rosie), Michael Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez (Cindy), and his daughter Edna Olson (Quincy). In addition to his children, Miguel is survived by his nephews; Gus Hernandez (Laura) and David Hernandez (Pat). His legacy continues through numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nephews and nieces all of whom will carry forward the values, memories, and love he so generously gave.
Miguel’s life was a testament to the strength of faith, the power of family, and the beauty of simple joys. He will be remembered with deep love and missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him
A Visitation for Miguel will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, located at 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A Prayer Service will take place at 6:00 PM. The following day, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, a Chapel Service will be held at 9:00 AM at the funeral home. A Processional will depart the funeral home at 10:00 AM for a Committal Service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209, scheduled for 10:45 AM.
