

Mike Schomberg, a devoted husband and beloved friend, took the hand of Jesus, who led him home to heaven on December 14, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on July 7, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, Mike lived a life full of dedication and passion.
Mike worked in construction with various construction companies in town. He would see a building he had worked on and would always humbly say he had worked on it. He learned a lot during his years in construction and it served him well in later life with different projects he was working on.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel and Ruby Schomberg. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Voges Schomberg; his sister, Faye Butcher (Phillip); his sister-in-law, Valerie Walls (Benson); his brother-in-law, Dennis Voges; and many special nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
In his personal life, Mike loved working in his shop, particularly with metal, and enjoyed fixing different things. He was known for his ability to fix just about anything and for his innovative ideas. Mike was always willing to teach others how things worked or how to do something, sharing his knowledge generously. Most of all, he will be remembered for his heart of gold.
A visitation will be held for all who loved Mike to gather on December 22, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, located at 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A funeral service will be held to honor Mike's life on December 23, 2025, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Helotes Lutheran Cemetery, 9925 Leslie Rd, Helotes, TX 78254.
Mike's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, as a testament to his kindness, skill, and the love he shared with those around him.
