

During World War II, she worked for the Censorship Bureau in the downtown Federal Building and later for the Medical Department at Fort Sam Houston.
Mildred was a long time, faithful member of Central Christian Church where she served as a Deacon and on many committees. She also served a term as Secretary of the Board and was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Rene Bryant; daughter, Cheryl Dorton; son, Ron Bryant and wife, Becki; grandchildren: Jim Dorton and wife Amanda, Laura Eagan and husband, C.J.; Christopher Bryant; Laurie Dorton; Susan Costello and husband, Charles; great-grandchildren: Tiffany Dorton, Kyle Dorton, Caleb Costello, Caitlyn Eagan and Casey Costello.
The family extends their gratitude and are thankful to the caregivers at Homewood Residence of Shavano, the nurses of Innovative Senior Care, and the entire Vitas Hospice Team #560 for their loving care of a beautiful wife, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13th from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
Pallbearers will be Don Deal, Chris Bryant, Rusty Crowley, Jim Dorton, Darren Heinsohn and Ron Mercer.
