

Miller F. Burkhalter, age 86, passed away at home with his family and friends at his side on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 after complications following surgery. He was a life-long resident and contributor to the City of San Antonio.
For 44 years, he was an active and devout member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Miller was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Alhambra, and St. Patrick's Holy Family Guild for 50 years.
He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and St. Mary's University. Miller was a proud veteran of WWII. An entrepreneur, he owned Eagle Supply Co. and established Miller Sales Co.
Miller was a life member of the Turner Club, a Texas Ten Pin inductee, and an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mayme Monestier Burkhalter; their children: Dr. Sarah B. Burkhalter and husband Charles Moffatt; Miller F. Burkhalter, III; Annette M. Burkhalter; Elizabeth Burkhalter Elliott and husband, Callan M. Billingsley; Christopher Burkhalter; Madeleine Burkhalter Rhodes and husband, Eric; sister, Mary Helen Burkhalter Mueller and husband, Dr. Edwin Mueller, Jr.; beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Monica Bielser Warner, Edouard Tahmizian, Katie, Loli and Isabella Elliott, Austin and Jett Warner, Lief Rhodes, Mitchell and Shellie Billingsley, Elizabeth and Charlie Moffatt:, Sam and Elodie Duffy, Harrison Moffatt; and wonderful family friends, Derrick Garcia and Toni Cox.
He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and the family dog, Bouda.
