Miriam Strawn Ruhlen was born in Chicago Illinois on December 23, 1917. She was the first born and last surviving of four children of Col. Christopher C. Strawn and Edith Strawn. She entered rest on November 14, 2018.
She had a wonderful and fulfilling life and marriage of 65 years with her husband, George Ruhlen (MG USA), who predeceased her. She and her husband George lived the nomadic life of an Army family, stationed overseas several times, and with numerous postings stateside.
She is survived by her two sons, George and Steve, daughters-in-law, Karan and Mary Ellen, grandchildren, Lisa Ruhlen Gallagher (Brian Gallagher), Stephen Paul Ruhlen, Grant Ruhlen, Audrey Ruhlen and Georgia Grace Ruhlen, and great grandchildren, Mary Gallagher and Grace Gallagher. She was the last survivor among her three siblings, whom she dearly loved, Louis F Strawn, Martha Strawn Paul and Margaret Strawn Chandler and her sister in law, Inez Strawn. Sue Strawn, Chris Strawn, Mark Strawn, and Cheri Woodard are among her surviving nieces and nephews.
Interment will be on Monday, 4 February 2019 at 10:45 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
