Miyoko Hiramatsu Dressing passed from this life on Sunday, December 16, 2007. She was born in Okayama City, Japan on January 4, 1928. On May 11, 1951, she married the love of her life, Edward, in Japan and moved to St Louis, MO. They were blessed with two daughters Kay and Dorothy. She was a devoted Army wife, mother, homemaker and caregiver. In 1964 Edward retired from the Army and they moved to Tacoma, Washington.
Sadly her beloved husband suffered with Parkinson's for over 37 years. It was her tender loving care that allowed them to celebrate their 50th anniversary just before he passed in 2001. She moved to San Antonio in 2006 to be close to her daughter and fell in love with the city and all the wonderful people she met.
Miyoko was preceded in death by her parents, Takejiro and Kei Hiramatsu, her sister, Sadako, her brother, Toshio, her daughter, Dorothy and her husband Edward. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Constantine Sgagias and her brother, Hiroo and his wife Sachiko of Tajimi City, Japan.
At Miyoko's request she will be cremated and buried next to her husband and daughter in Tacoma WA. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 2504 N. St. Mary's St., San Antonio, TX 78212.
