Monica attended St. Cecilia Elementary, Page Junior and Brackenridge High schools. She had a happy childhood, and made many friends at school and church, and continued her friendships throughout her life. She married and began her first family, having two sons and a daughter, and in her second family had her second daughter and third son. Monica had unconditional love for her children and was devoted and committed to raising them with love and kindness. In 1992 she met Hank, and they married in January 2010. Hank was the love of her life, her knight in shining armor, and always by her side wherever they went. Monica loved attending family events: weddings, birthdays, graduations, retirements, Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving gatherings and family reunions in Houston with Hank’s extended family. Monica worked for over 35 years in retail, hospitals, banking and recently at the University Hospital Medical Center, where she worked 17+ years. Monica was a devout Catholic and follower of Jesus Christ and life-long parishioner of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to ACTS retreats, and embraced sisterhood with the Sisters in Christ group. In her final weeks of her life, Monica was steadfast in her faith and love for the Lord, and belief He would soon receive her into his loving arms, and end her body’s pain and suffering, and bring her everlasting, glorious peace.
