

Mozelle was the first child born from the union of Henry Washington and Loma Franklin Fowler, on April 14, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas.
Having attended San Antonio schools, Mozelle joined the United States Army at the age of 17 and was a World War II veteran. Upon returning from the War, he was stationed at Ft. Wayne, Michigan. After leaving the Army, he completed Tailoring School. He later became a Petroleum Tankers Manager in Michigan.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Loma Franklin; father, Henry Washington; and his brother George D. Washington, Sr.
Mozelle is survived by his sister, Belle Richardson of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter Tisa DeGroat and her husband David DeGroat and family of Redford, Michigan; nephews George D. Washington, Jr. and wife Pamela Washington and family of San Antonio, Texas, Sergio Y. Washington and family of San Antonio, Texas, Pierre R. Washington and wife Cherylyn Washington and family of American Canyon, California; and niece Denise T. Noble and husband Anthony V. Noble and family of Frisco, Texas as well as a host of grandnephews and grandnieces.
Mozelle was loved by his family and will be missed greatly.
A Memorial Service will take place Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary Chapel.
Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
The family of Mozelle W. Washington wishes to acknowledge our sincere appreciation for words that lightened our hearts; and earnest prayers that have given us strength and courage during this time.
