

Terry Moran, 61, of San Antonio, passed away on December 28, 2016. The life of this beloved soldier, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend will be celebrated at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home. Retired SGM Moran was born in Troy, New York on March 18, 1955. He was raised in New York and entered the U.S. Army in July 1972. He trained and served as a Medical Corpsman. He proudly arrived to the 159th Unit and honorably served in assignments to Darmstadt and Wiesbaden, Germany and in Somalia, Africa. He loved his country and family and retired in San Antonio, Texas. We already miss him so much. We miss his smiles, fun and playful personality, silly and sweet side with children and animals, hard working and helpful attitude, Lone Star beer, 70’s music, and whistling. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Moran. He is survived by his mother, Mary Grose Moran, his wife of 23 years Estella Gomez, and his children Terry Pius Moran Jr., San Antonio; Kelly Moran Paxton and husband David, Ft. Hood; Brenda Smith and husband Wayne, Coppell; Malinda Headrick and husband Gary, Georgetown; Eloy Gomez and wife Gloria, San Antonio; 11 grandchildren: Christie Serrano, Tim Porter, Noah Hendrix, Celeste Paxton, Alexa Gomez, Chance Paxton, Colton Paxton, Eriqua Gomez, Riley Moran, Conner Paxton, TyTy Moran; 6 great grandchildren: Elaina Still, Jaelynn Still, Raylee Still, Landon Still, Lincoln Serrano, Lennox Serrano; brothers and sisters: Janice Moran Millington, Francis Moran, Sharon Moran Haskins, Robert (Bernadette) Moran, Paul Moran, and Stephen Moran; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 5 - 7p.m. A Rosary service will begin at 7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio 78218.A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. for the rendering of Military Honors and burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Terry, My Baby. Our love will never cease. There are no words. We will meet again in heaven. You will hear my Prayers, Daily Mass and Rosary always. You will be missed by many as you are an Awesome Man, My Hero. My heart is aching. Until we meet again. God Bless You. I Love you !!!
