

She was born in Shreveport, LA, and spent the last 38 years in Ft. Worth and San Antonio.
Married for 66 years to her beloved husband, Colonel Raleigh H. Macklin, Sr., USAF Ret., they had a blessed life traveling the world with their children. Their many stations of duty included Iwo Jima; Paris, France; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Washington, DC; Ft. Worth and San Antonio.
In recent years, an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs, she also spent many hours doting on her grandchildren and great grand children and reading novels. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Boerne, TX.
Her son, Mark Macklin of Springfield, MO, preceded Mrs. Macklin in death.
Mrs. Macklin is survived by her husband, Col. Raleigh H. Macklin, Sr. USAF Ret.; daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Prater of Boerne; sons, Col Raleigh Macklin, Jr., USAF Ret. of Warrenton, VA, Mr. Brian Macklin of Ft. Worth; sisters, Allene Woodall of Dallas, Nelwyne Burks of Shreveport, LA, and Patty Word of Sparta, TN; brother, Sherwood Searcy of Mooringsport, LA; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
