

After a long battle with depression, Nathan has gone to be with his Heavenly Father. Nathan Thomas Ahlert, born October 10th, 1991, passed away on July 7th, 2016. Nathan was the only son of John Craig Ahlert and Lisa Carole Real Ahlert (deceased).
Throughout his years in Catholic schools he played every sport and was a naturally gifted athlete. He achieved a Black Belt in Taekwondo at the age of ten. Nathan graduated in 2010 from Central Catholic High School where he played for the Buttons Football Team. He graduated with Honors and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Nathan attended UTSA his freshman and sophomore years and was a member of the UTSA Inaugural Football Team. He left UTSA and attended The University of Texas at Austin for his junior and senior years. He majored in Economics and Science with a minor in Business Administration. A member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at UT, Nathan made the best of friends.
Most who knew Nate would consider him an adventurous spirit. He bought his first motorcycle during his senior year of high school and quickly became an avid rider. Nathan loved cars, music, poetry, animals and literature. His favorite book was the Count of Monte Christo.
Nathan is survived by his father and stepmother John and Jane Ahlert. He was loved by his stepbrother and stepsister Will and Lauren McGilvray and cherished as a big brother. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Raymond and Florence Real and paternal grandfather Dennis Ahlert. Nathan was loved by his many cousins, aunts and uncles.
There will be a Visitation service for Nathan on July 14th at 6:00 to 8:00pm at Porter Loring Funeral Home on 1604 and Gold Canyon in San Antonio.
A funeral service will be held Friday July 15th at Community Bible Church (CBC Central) at 1:00pm.
Burial to follow at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in St. Hedwig, Texas
