Nelda Faye Cross

Nelda was born in Indian Creek, Texas to Elmer and Vela Posey on May 19, 1937. She was raised on a ranch in Brown County and worked alongside her parents and siblings completing her many daily farm chores.

After graduating from High School, she attended business school in Waco Texas, where she met the love of her life Robert Edwin Cross. Robert and Nelda married in 1956. Nelda worked as a full-time homemaker and was an excellent cook, gardener and seamstress. She was a very strong, independent and talented person who had the determination to accomplish almost anything. Her devotion to God, church and family was extraordinary.

Nelda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years Robert Edwin Cross, her brother Burl Posey and her parents Elmer and Vela

Posey.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Her daughter Kathy Bell and husband Larry of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, her son Keith Cross and wife Alice of New Braunfels, Texas, her sisters Rheba Wallingford of Conroe, Texas and Fran Boyle of Annandale, Virginia, along with her grandchildren; Kyle Ward, Jennalee Freeman, Lisa Williams, and Marissa Carlisle.

Funeral and Committal services with reception to follow will be 10:30 a.m. April 22 at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy., San Antonio, Texas.

Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
