Norma E. Baum, age 102, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 in San Antonio Texas. Formerly Norma Prout, she was a proud secretary from the Boston area who worked in Washington, D.C. for many distinguished representatives of the State Department until her retirement 40 years ago. She received a Meritorious Service Medal for her service to the country.
She never drove a car, but walked, took the train or a bus to get to work, shop and sightsee. She married late in life to Hans Baum in 1967. After 92 years in Boston and Alexandria, VA, she moved to an apartment in San Antonio, TX to be closer to family. She was an inspiration to us all as her strong spirit saw her through 102 years of life.
Her ashes will be interred in Wakefield, MA
