

Norma De Luna, born January 2, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas entered into eternal rest on January 2, 2014 at the age of 56 years surrounded by family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Rogelio and survived by her mother, Santiaga; 2 sisters, Teri (John), Sylvia (Ray) and 4 brothers; Roger (JoEllen), Carlos (Christina), Toby (Priscilla) and Paul (Delia). She was blessed with numerous nephews & nieces and her best friends, Anita Barbosa - Swenson and Patricia Martinez and will be deeply missed by all. Norma was near retirement and employed for 13 years as an Industry Operations Investigator with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives under the United States Department of Justice. She was also previously employed under civil service for 24 years at Kelly Air Force Base, Texas. Norma was known for her loving and giving ways, vibrant sense of humor and zest for life and can be best described as the matriarch of her family. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt and took care of her father until his last days and lived to care for her mother. She loved her San Antonio Spurs and was a season ticket holder. She loved to travel with family and friends. Norma was a second mom to all her nieces and nephews and often offered cash for straight "A's" and instilled the importance of education, hard work and integrity. She was escorted to her eternal resting place by her nephews, Carlos De Luna Jr., David Plata Jr., Roger De Luna III, Nicolas Moreno, Eric Corpus and stepson, Daniel Cortez. She was greeted at the gates of Heaven by God and is standing next to her father, Rogelio, where they will spend eternity watching over their family here on Earth. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Nino Ramos and Lilliana Castro, RN ICU, and numerous doctors and nurses who made her comfortable during her last days. A sincere appreciation is extended to Mr. Ron Elder and Mr. Terry Legg along with her ATF family for their support, concern and devotion to their fellow colleague. Visitation will begin on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph South San Catholic Church located at 535 New Laredo Hwy. Interment to follow at San Jose Burial Park.
