Norma was born in the Philippines to parents, Pablo and Anastacia Garcia on October 8, 1941. She would later leave the country and travel the world with her husband, Rodolfo. They came to the U.S. in 1964 and lived in many different places while Rodolfo served in the Army. Norma greatly enjoyed cooking and was head chef at the Normandy Terrace Nursing Home until she retired. A favorite food that she would make for the family was a dish called puto, a type of Filipino steamed sweet cake. She loved to entertain with a food fest by having huge gatherings with family and freinds. Her favorite color yellow, was obvious by her like of any yellow flowers or favored yellow hat she wore. She loved watching her Filipino soap operas as well as watching her Spurs games and like a true fan knew each one by name. She would enthusiastically cheer them on from the comfort of home. Of all the things she could give her time to though, she loved spending time with her grandkids the most. Throughout her life, Norma was a very loving, giving and caring person. She could easily meet you as a stranger and treat you as her own family.
Norma is survived by her two children: Danny Viray (Cindy), Dianna Viray; grandchildren: D.J. , Zachery, Justin (Renata), and Kimberley Viray; and many more who knew her. She was joy to all and will be greatly missed.
