Ofelia Schultz was sent to her eternal home at the age of 82 on March 5, 2025, and was predeceased by her loving spouse Willard Schultz. She was born on November 6, 1942 in General Teran, Mexico, and came from a large family with many brothers and 1 sister.
In her early twenties an opportunity arose for her to join her aunt in America to start a new chapter in her life. It was on an outing with friends that she met a gentleman by the name of Willard Schultz, and he was caught by her beauty and instantly asked for her phone number. Being the amazing woman that she was, she gave her future husband a fake number to see if he would pursue her and win over her heart. The two married and soon after welcomed their first daughter, Janis, into the world. As time progressed Ofelia went on to have another wonderful daughter, Norma. Ofelia and her family traveled throughout the United States and Mexico taking in the sites and wonders while creating memories with their many travels.
They moved homes many times before settling in Texas. So, it was no shock when her husband planted a for sale sign in front of their Texas home. With a growing love for Texas Ofelia was tired of moving so she took it upon herself to remove the for sale sign her husband had put up, and hid the sign in the trunk of her car.
Ofelia worked for Levi’s as a seamstress and was a housewife for many years. She was talented with sewing and crocheting, and she made many things including blankets, clothing, and curtains. She also had a green thumb, a natural talent for gardening and the ability to make plants and flowers grow. Her love for gardening grew as she would transform a once barren yard to a truly breathtaking oasis filled with lush green grass, tall trees, various plants, and vibrant flowers. Her knowledge was exceptional that her friends would seek her advice, and even bring her their dying plants for her to nurse back to life.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints she had a strong faith in God, and her belief in the Lord was a constant source of comfort.
Ofelia Schultz will always be remembered as a:
• A nurturing sister to all of her siblings who she loved very much.
• A traveler by heart.
• A nurturing mother and wife.
• Blessed with a green thumb.
Ofelia is survived by her daughters, Janis Schultz-Nuncio, (Michael Nuncio) and Norma Schultz-Harrison, (Brandon Harrison), her brothers and sister, Juan, Daniel, Eddie, and Licha, her grandchildren, Alondra Schultz, and Falon Harrison,step-grandson, Jared Nuncio, as well as extended family.
Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas, 78238 on Thursday April 10, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
