Ofelia Flores Tijerina

Ofelia F. Tijerina went to be with the Lord on Monday September 6, 2021 peacefully in her home at the age of 88 years. She was the widow of Fabian Tijerina Jr. They shared 63 wonderful years together.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia (Dindo) Tijerina; parents, Ernesto and Apolinar Gonzales Flores; brother, Joe Flores; sisters, Maria F. Machado and Susie F. Villareal.

Ofelia was born in Somerset, Texas and was one of seven children. Her surviving siblings; Dora F. Barrientes, Eva F. Serrato and Gilbert Flores. She made her way to San Antonio in the early 1940's, where she built a loving family with her husband and six children. Ofelia is survived by one son; Johnny (Delores) Tijerina, and four daughters; Beatrice T.(Heriberto) Garcia, Delia T. Revilla, Angelita T. (Ernest) Elizondo, Anita T. (Becky) Carmona; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Tijerina retired from Harlandale ISD after working at Leal Middle School for 25 years. She was proud to work in the community she raised her family in. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and sewing. She will be remembered for her kindness, strong faith, and genuine love.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday September 16, 2021 at Trevino Funeral Home, Palo Alto Rd. with a rosary at 7:00pm. The funeral mass will begin at 10:30 am on Friday September 17, 2021 at St. Joseph (South San) Catholic Church and the graveside service will be at 12:30pm at Chilipitin Cemetery in Charlotte, Texas.
