

Born in San Antonio, to John and Janie Holt Hurst, he graduated from Brackenridge High School, Class of 1940.
In 1942, he earned his Private Pilot License and in 1943, he proudly enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and served in the European theater.
He was pilot commander of a B24 Liberator ~ flying 35 missions in the 8th AAF, 44th Bombadier Group, USAAF. Because he was the youngest 1st Lt in the group, the crew affectionately called him "Pappy".
Returning to San Antonio, he received his J.D. from St. Mary's School of Law in 1952.
For 44 years, he was a dedicated and loyal employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Victoria, McAllen, Houston, St. Louis, Lubbock and finally returning to San Antonio, retiring as a District Engineer. He was a Charter member and President of the Exchange Club in Victoria, TX, as well as a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Frank is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Kohlenberg Hurst.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Charlene "Charlie" de la Fuente and Trudy H. Lopez; grandchildren: Harmony Walton, Michael Walton, Frankie Garza and Alexcia Lopez; ten great-grandchildren, all of San Antonio; brother, John F. Hurst of Canyon Lake;nephews, nieces, and sister-in-law, Kathy Hurst, and his beloved pet terrier, Tina.
