On November 29th 2016, Orlando Joel Lopez went home to his Heavenly Father. Born in Houston on August 7th, 1959 and raised in Kirby, Texas, Orlando enjoyed the many wonderful things life had to offer.
At a young age, he found salvation in Christ Jesus and served in many capacities and ministries within the church. He attended Judson High School and Howard Payne University. He served in the United States Air Force as an Enlisted Aircrew Member and continued to serve his community through contributions to public education. He married the love of his life and shared four children and many years together. He had a passion for baseball and softball that nearly matched his passion and love for his lifelong friends and his family.
After many years of a valiant fight, Orlando entered into eternal rest comforted by his mother and with the great knowledge of the love he had for his family. It was once said of him that "he never knew a stranger" and anyone who ever knew him would attest to the truth of that statement. He went by many titles such as Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend, Coach, Minister and what he was most commonly known as, Lopey. His absence will be felt near and far, but the life he lived and the lives he touched will endure in all our hearts and memories. It will never be said of him that he was just an ordinary man who lived an ordinary life, for he was a man of extraordinary talent and full of extraordinary love.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joel Lopez. He is survived by his Mother, Rose Lopez; Wife, Karen Lopez; Brother, Dennis Lopez; Sister, Anna Lopez; Sons, Adam Lopez and Aaron Lopez; Daughters Amber Beamer and Ashley Lopez; Grandsons, Jayden Bryant and Wesley Lopez and Granddaughters, Ayla Beamer, Aden Lopez, Brooklyn Lopez, Constance Beamer and Nolia Beamer, as well as his father and mother-in-law and sons and daughters-in-law and many lifelong friends.
The family appreciates any prayers and kind thoughts that you may have to offer.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 at Parkhills Baptist Church located at 17747 San Pedro Ave. San Antonio, TX 78232.
A visitation and viewing will be held from 3pm-3:45pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 4pm.
