

Oscar Luis Cantu, Jr, age 58, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, in San Antonio. As a San Antonio native, Oscar attended Churchill Hill School, and he was an active member of the debate team and the marching band. One of his finest accomplishments was leading the Churchill Debate Team to state and national championships. In 1985, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelors degree in political science. He completed his Juris Doctorate at California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. After law school, Oscar returned to Texas and worked as an attorney throughout San Antonio and surrounding areas for the past thirty-one years. Oscar was a passionate antiques and gun collector, and he could often be found at the local gun show on Saturday afternoons. A life-long interest was his love for the Star Wars film series, so he leaves his family and friends with these words, "May the Force be with you." He was born on June 8, 1963, in San Antonio, to parents, Oscar and Maria Gaytan Cantu. He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar L. Cantu. Oscar is survived by his wife, Karri; daughters, Isabella, Analisa and Gabriella; his sister, Elizabeth. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
