Oscar had a natural green thumb, being able to grow anything out of seeds; his most prized plant were his rose bushes, Which he took lots of pride in to make them look great. He enjoyed working on cars, and loved being with his grandchildren picking pecans. Most of all, Oscar loved his family. He took pride in caring for his family, when grandchildren came into the picture, he took every chance to spend time with them. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. His hard working nature was to provide the best to his family.
In 1969, Oscar met Maria Isabel Olguin while visiting his sister. It was love at first sight for them, and their love blossomed. They decided to get married on February 1, 1969 and together raised five children and seven grandchildren together.
