

With immeasurable sadness, we announce the passing of Otilia Vidaurri Lozano, who left this world peacefully in the early morning of February 19, 2025. She was 96 years old and lived a full and happy life, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and adventure.
Born on October 14, 1928, to Ernestina and Luis Varela, Otilia dedicated her career to education, always valuing the importance of learning and encouraging others to reach their potential. She was a devout Catholic, finding strength and guidance in her faith throughout her life. Beyond her professional and spiritual life, she had a deep love for traveling, meeting new people, and immersing herself in different cultures. She was passionate about the arts, enjoyed painting and supporting both local artists and those she encountered on her journeys.
Otilia is survived by her son, Louis Vidaurri; her grandchildren, Heather Franks, Stephani Wolfe, and Joshua Vidaurri; and her siblings, Lucy V. Tipp & Humberto J. Varela, MD. Otilia is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Laura Vidaurri, her first love, Luis Anthony Vidaurri, and her second love, Carlos Lozano & her brother Luis Varela.
A rosary for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 17th, at 6:00 PM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Blanco Road. A private family funeral service will follow on Tuesday, March 18th, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, with a procession to Holy Cross Cemetery for burial.
Dr Otilia Vidaurri Lozano will be remembered for her love of learning, her adventurous spirit, and her deep appreciation for art and culture. May she rest in peace.
