Owen Fred Gent

Owen Gent, age 91, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. What a privilege to have enjoyed the life and love of Owen Gent, a man of honor who graduated to heaven after a short two week illness.

Owen loved the Lord, loved his beloved wife Leonora, all his family and was the best Grandpa a family could hope for. Owen was a great father who raised two outstanding children and then blessed his second family as Grandpa. He was a man of success who never knew how amazing he was. He was a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, a retired High School Science and History Teacher, a member of Shearer Hills Baptist Church, and a devoted Aggie. Owen loved golf, fishing, bingo and taking trips with his wife Leonora, who he married at age 74. The two enjoyed 16 years of marriage together.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Inez Gent and granddaughter, Andrea Gent. Owen is survived by his wife, Leonora Gent; son, David Gent; daughter, Nauri Broussard; grandchildren Daniel Broussard and Allison Gent; as well as the Cook's, Dale's, Klein's, Byrnes' and Pearson's families who considered themselves fortunate to call him Grandpa.
