When we speak of the "Greatest Generation", we feel our Mother was indeed, a legend in her own time. Our Mom, Patricia Terry Halty Criswell, age 84, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017. At the early age of 16, she was a proud graduate of Brackenridge High School and a member of the "Purple Jackets" pep squad.
She earned her Library Science degree from San Antonio College. Because of her love of knowledge and being an avid reader, she had the perfect job in the library at Trinity University for 30 years. She learned a little bit of many languages because of her fluent reading of books and magazines. She had a passion for historical books and one of her favorite reads was, "Gone with the Wind". She loved England and made many trips in appreciation of the culture and atmosphere.
Patricia is preceded in death by her father, Walter D. Terry; mother, Nancy Hedrick Terry Skinner; stepfather, Walter S. Skinner and her husband, James F. Criswell. She is survived by her daughter, Terry Halty Kennemer (Bill) and son, Scott Halty and their father, Floyd Halty; grandchildren: Lance Eichholotz (Joni), Kristin Eichholtz (Ted) and Ashley Moore (Kirk); her beloved great-grandchildren: Kirk, Cole, Carter and Paige along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family extends their gratitude to the caregivers at Regent Care Center of Oakwell Farms, 100 Hall Staff and Vitas Hospice for their kindness and attentiveness extended to our Mother during her stay.
