

Patsy was born in San Antonio, TX to David J. and Archie Mae Williams on October 21, 1940. She graduated high school from Jefferson High School in 1958 and completed her undergraduate degree from Texas State University in 1964.
Patsy met her future husband, Walter “Walt” Wayne Hammons, at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where they attended classes together. They married on December 19, 1964, in San Antonio, TX. Together they lived in San Antonio, Seguin, Portland, Midland, and New Braunfels. Patsy taught elementary-aged students in the communities where they lived. She enjoyed her students and had a significant impact upon their lives. Patsy participated in numerous clubs and social organizations and was Past W Matron of Portland OES.
Patsy is survived by her adoring husband, Walt; her loving daughter, Melissa Albright (Jim Albright), and devoted son, David Hammons (former spouse Heather Hammons); four grandchildren Christopher Albright (Heather), Lauren Beyer (Jared), Haley Hammons, and Dalton Hammons; and seven great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be David Hammons, Jim Albright, Christopher Albright, Dalton Hammons, Jared Beyer, and Jaxon Beyer.
Visitation will be at Sunset Memorial Park from 6 – 8 pm Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, May 23, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Park with Tom Norvell of Hope Hospice officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice New Braunfels or the charity of your choice. The family of Patricia Mae Hammons wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hope Hospice of the Hill Country, Home Instead, and Maria Perez who cared for her lovingly until her last breath.
