

Our beloved Patricia Ramirez Lona, 82, was called to Heaven to be with her Lord Jesus Christ. She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in San Antonio, TX. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her. Patricia was a woman of deep faith who loved God and lived her life with compassion, strength and grace. Her family was the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to caring for and supporting those she loved. She created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.
Patricia was born in San Antonio, Texas to Alberta Ruiz and Marcos Ramirez on Monday, April 26, 1943. She lived a life defined by faith, love, and devotion to those closest to her. She attended and graduated from Edgewood High School in San Antonio, Texas. She married Joseph G. Lona on November 17, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas. Patricia was blessed with a beautiful 63-year marriage with her beloved husband. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. She dedicated 20 years of service as a civil servant as an Administrative Secretary at Kelly Air Force Base, where she worked faithfully before retiring. Patricia found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved doing arts and crafts, tending to her garden, and most of all spending time with her family. Her children were blessed with a childhood full of love and wonderful family memories they will cherish forever.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Alberta and Marcos Ramirez; her brothers Francisco Ramirez and Carlos Ramirez; her sisters Andrea Almeria, Maria Martinez, Enriqueta Camarena, and Isabel Jaramillo.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband Joseph G. Lona; devoted daughters Patricia Sanchez (Andrew Sanchez) and Alberta Gatica (Steven Gatica); proud son Joe Lona (Margie Lona), her loving brother Anastacio “Tacho” Ramirez (Kookie) and her supportive sister Carmen Dominguez. Patricia was an incredible grandmother and great-grandmother who loved each of her grandchildren unconditionally. Her heart and home were always open, and she welcomed everyone with warmth, kindness and love. Patricia was loved and admired by 9 wonderful grandchildren and 14 beautiful great grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Patrica’s family is honored to have her 7 grandsons, and one great grandson serve as pallbearers: Chris Bittick, Erik Mejia, Louie Ramones, Brian Mejia, Mark Ramones, Aaron Gatica, Tony Lona, and great grandson Isaiah Guerrero.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, kindness, and support during this difficult time. Your compassion has brought comfort to our hearts.
Heavenly Father, thank you for blessing us with the life of our precious Patricia. Her love, faith, and kindness touched so many lives. Please hold her in your eternal embrace and give our family strength and peace as we carry her love in our hearts forever. Amen.
The family will receive guests at 6:00 p.m., Monday March 30, 2026, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm.
A final viewing will take place from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.
A procession will follow to depart for Funeral Services at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Rd. San Antonio, Tx. 78228. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.
