Patricia Louise Medina

Our sister, Patricia Louise Medina, affectionately known to many as Pat, passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 63. She was a lifelong resident of Texas, having been born in San Antonio on May 12, 1961, and concluding her vibrant journey in Austin.

Pat was the beloved sister to Irene Sapio and her husband Tom, brother Richard Medina and his wife Naomi, brother Arthur Medina and his wife Leticia, brother David Medina, and her nieces Denise Nicole Sapio and Michelle Harper. Pat was also a doting great-aunt to Hartley, Preston, Guiliana, and Vinny. Pat was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Beatrice and Pete Medina, who instilled in her the values of family that she carried throughout her life.

Pat's educational journey began in her hometown and reached a milestone when she received her associate's degree from Austin Community College, becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse—a title she wore with pride and dedication. Her career was a testament to her caring nature, as she worked diligently in various hospitals and nursing homes across the Austin area. Her colleagues and patients alike will remember her for her unwavering commitment to providing comfort and care to those in need.

Pat, was known for her love of her dogs whom she considered family - Tammy Faye and Kinsey. Those who knew Pat would describe her as a generous soul; her love language was the giving of presents and she frequently showered her family members with gifts. Pat was courageous and outspoken. She was playful, loved to laugh, and loved to dance. She expressed interest in others, and frequently communicated her love and concern for their welfare. Pat leaves behind many sweet memories that her family will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Our sister will be laid to rest in a peaceful ceremony, surrounded by the people she loved and the beauty of the Texas landscape she called home. Pat's journey on earth may have come to an end, but her love and generous spirit will continue in the hearts and memories of those she left behind.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m.to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Avenue.
