He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he met his beloved wife of 61 years, Neva Wilkerson Hamilton. His education was postponed when he served in the Army Air Corp as Second Lieutenant and pilot instructor during World War ll. Patrick and Neva led an exciting, adventure-filled life, beginning in New York City, where Hamilton earned his BBA from Columbia University.
A longtime San Antonio resident, he was a natural leader with a powerful sense of duty and devotion to family. During his partnership with DB Harrell Company, he helped shape the future of San Antonio commercial real estate. He served as president of Oak Hills Country Club, where he could be found competing for the club championship in both golf and tennis every year. He also served as director of the United Way campaign for the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and was a longtime member of the Exchange Club.
Patrick and Neva loved San Antonio and enjoyed a close circle of friends with whom they shared travel, golf, tennis, and cards. They were members of Los Alegredores dance club and Friends of the McNay. As long time member of Saint Pius the X Parrish, he attended daily mass and served as Communicate Minister and Lector.
He is survived by his six children, Claire Smith Dale of Austin, Patrick Sylvia of McAllen, Susan Johnson Ron, Robert Su Yueh, Luke, and Peggy Houser Sloan of Austin; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
