

Pete Elizalde, Jr., age 88, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on March 31, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents, Mary Penaloza and Pedro “Pete” Elizalde, Sr. Pete Elizalde Jr. was in the Air Force for 4 years and had 34 years of Federal Civil Service (Kelly Airforce Base). He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a business degree. He was also a “jack of many trades”: woodworker, cabinet maker, photographer, tax preparer, handy man, auto mechanic; and in his earlier years, tennis and baseball coach, boy scout leader, and inventor (he owned and created “The Plastics House” and was granted a patent for a silicon cover to prevent rust on metal hooks). He was a loved and respected friend, neighbor, and patriarch, who was always ready to listen and offer a helping hand. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he loved joking and spending time with his family and adored every one of them very much.
He was preceded in death by, his parents and his beloved wife of 67 years, Beatrice Bela Elizalde. Pete is survived by his: three daughters: Nina Elizalde Crocker (Philip), Nora Elizalde (Norma Leal), Nannette Elizalde Contreras, and two sons: Pete Elizalde III (Yvette), and Daniel Elizalde (Rob Boswell). He had 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
