Pete was a deacon at El Central Baptist Church for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and recently, his brother-in-law, David Castillo. Survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Elvira G. Gutierrez; sons; Raul Velasco, Pete G. Gutierrez and Diane, and Sergio Moriada and Lodie; daughters, Rebecca Martinez and George, Connie G. Molano, all of San Antonio, TX, Sylvia G. Rodriguez and Mauro and Joann G. Hernandez and Robert, all of Dallas, TX; 27 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sisters, Elvira Castillo, Stella Valdez and Henry and Alicia, all of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Paul Gutierrez and Santos, Pete Montiel, all of Chicago, Il, and Joe Angel Gutierrez, Nixon, TX.
