Working with Peter was an absolute joy.  His constant ability to challenge the system or some aspect of the job always provided an opportunity to learn.  You will be missed, brother, and I truly hope that you are at peace.

SFC Pete Larsen and I worked together, initially, in Panama.  He was my Division Medical Supply Officer.  I believe Pete arrived in 1988 or 1989.  He was extremely knowledgeable and well known for his expertise in Medical Logistics.  During the Panama Invasion, I was asked to build some emergency Medical First Aid kits for immediate use at the SOUTHCOM Headquarters.  I called Pete to see how fast he could get them out the door & he already had some built and was able to build the rest and get them personally delivered to SOUTHCOM in a very short amount of time.  Everyone was impressed with his ability to get things done.  I had the opportunity to work with Pete again from 2011-2014 at MEDCOM.  I was continually amazed at his expertise, now in the Housekeeping contracting area.  He was a lot of fun and kept the entire team laughing.  I had lunch with him and another co-worker in approximately 2017, after I retired.  I cannot tell you how much Pete will be missed and how much his expertise is surpassed by no one.  I am not sure how anyone will be able to fill his shoes. Pete's passing is a huge loss to his family and friends as well as, the Medical Logistics community.  RIP, Pete Larsen.

I knew Pete for over 20 years as a co-worker and friend, he was tremendous at both. His dedication to Service members was always evident and he was always willing to share his expertise. I worked with Peter for over 20 years and enjoyed sharing difficult and enlightening times with him. As a mentor he was a wealth of knowledge and was eager to share it with anyone in need. Pete was not only a colleague, but a good friend.  He was dependable, honest and always willing to lend an ear when you needed it. I’m going to miss talking to him first thing in the morning and right before it was time to call it a day. He had the best laugh and knew how to lighten the mood.   Pete, I’m going to miss you. I knew Peter to be a consummate professional, most knowledgeable in his field of expertise, and that he was an exceedingly devoted employee of the Headquarters, U.S Army Medical Command.  Over the years in our duty travels together, your father often spoke proudly of his family,  Clearly, he loved them dearly.

I was lucky enough to work with Peter for 6 years and I can say he was the one everyone went to whenever they had a question about any regulation or needed advice on how to go about completing a tasking. He was the one everyone went to for a laugh or to commiserate with when things were not going well at work. Peter was a consummate professional who valued and always spoke of his family and his cats, and he will be missed by everyone.

I had the privilege of knowing and working with Peter over the last several years.  I often spoke of his career as a soldier and devotion to the Army as a civilian after retiring from the Army.  He also spoke with me often of his daughter.  I will ask that prayers be offered at the Catholic mass in his memory at this Sunday's mass at the Ft Detrick Chapel.  Ben Rubio

It has been a joy and privilege to know Peter.  Professionally, he was super smart and hard working.  Personally, he was always upbeat and fun.
