Phillip Allan Newsom, age 76, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022, in Grapevine, Texas. He was born to parents, Katherine and Phillip Newsom on June 5, 1946, in Alpine, Texas. A graduate of Alpine High School, Texas Tech (BA) and University of Southern California (MSSM), plus studies and memorable adventures at University of Maryland, Munich, Germany. He proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force, then continued his career at Northrop-Grumman (B2), Raytheon, L3 COMM and Lockheed, where he continued to work on projects and systems to keep our nation safe and strong.
In addition to a zest for life, family and friends, he had a love of Golf, the Dallas Cowboys, Texas, History, and all things Tech - especially with Apple or Mac. He was always on a quest to learn how things worked and how to improve them. He was very clever, using his skills and knowledge to improve the lives of many.
Phillip held many jobs:

But he believed that Life is a Gift and to pack it! One of his favorite memories in his own words:
"While in Germany, I took my summers to hitchhike around Europe. To Marseille in southern France, Paris, Dijon and Rome all on different trips." He made friends every place he went and carried the memories and adventures with him always.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Carolyn, his cherished children Heather Alexander and husband Joseph, Tiffany Newsom and James Newsom, his sister Katherine Boyer and her son Lee, and many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews.
