

Phillip S. Sfair went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the age of 91. He was born in Hadedh Joube, Lebanon on February 23, 1919 to Solomon Sfair and Julia Karam Sfair. Phil came to the United States with his parents and brother, Fred at a very early age. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1936. In World War II, Phil served in the Army Air Corps and was in the China, Burma and India Campaign. After being honorably discharged, Phil enjoyed a successful career in the entertainment business owning many clubs, including the Navy Club, Stork Club, The Carrousel, The Merry Go Round and several others. He was also successful in the Oil and Gas industry. He was a member of the Petroleum Club and The Monday Morning Quarterback Club. Phil was a faithful member of Saint George Maronite Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon and Julia Karam Sfair; wife, Mary Lou and sister, Dodette Kory; brothers, Fred and Mike and step-mother, Hasna. Phil is survived by his brother, George; dear friend and companion, Cheryl Hardin; nephew, Phil Kory; niece, Emily Kory; cousins, Julia Sfeir, Daniel Sfeir, Adele Sfeir, and numerous other beloved cousins, family and friends. Phil enjoyed life to its fullest, especially on the 19 cruises and many trips to Las Vegas that he took with his dear friends Dan and Katy Cook and Cheryl. "Square Deal" Phil will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Sfair will lie in state beginning at 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Porter Loring on McCullough. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at St. George Maronite Catholic Church.
