He was born in Hamilton, Texas. Following graduation from Northeast High School, he joined the Air Force Reserves. He attended Texas A&M and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington where he met and pursued his future wife, Martha Lee Morris.
The newlyweds made their home in San Antonio where Mr. Andres worked for USAA for 36 years. He earned his CPA in 1983. He retired in 2000 as an officer.
Although he was a member of many organizations, he was most proud of being a charter member of Crown of Life Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Martha Andres; daughter, Amy Lee Harman and husband Jim of Dallas; son, Eric David Andres and wife Ashley of San Antonio; grandchildren, Haley and Drew Harman of Dallas, and Brady Andres of San Antonio.
