

R. Jim Toolan, age 76 of San Antonio, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009. He was born on October 19, 1932 in Johnstown, PA, the son of Harold J. Toolan and Ann (Jordon) Toolan. The family moved to Canton, OH when he was one year old. Jim married Barbara in 1952 and they moved to Golden, CO. He served in the Korean War in the U.S. Army. Jim began his career as a driver and was promoted to supervisor for Carb-Ice Corporation; SEC Inc.; Amerigas; he founded ACRO Co & DRY ICE which was later acquired by BEVCO, and moved to San Antonio, TX with Carbonic Reserves where he retired as operations manager in Hanes City, FL. He moved back to San Antonio in 2006 to help with his Son's ranch and business. Jim was preceded in death by son, Michael Patrick Toolan; daughter, Patricia Sue Moerke, both from Golden, CO, and sister, Kathleen Padget of CA. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Barbara Toolan; son, Greg Toolan and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Moerke, Jeffery Allen Moerke, Megan Rae Toolan, and Troy Douglas Toolan; great-granddaughter, Taylor Marie Gleim; son-in-law, Chuck Moerke; sisters, Patricia Bishop, Dolores Cugino, Susan Villella and Michele Toolan along with numerous nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law.
