Mrs. Rachel Miner, known to family and friends simply as Rachel, was born on October 29, 1944, in Stockton, California, and passed away on April 4, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Rachel lived a life marked by devotion, resilience, and grace. She was a woman of spirited energy and quiet strength, and those who knew her will remember her as adventurous, kind, and deeply generous in heart. Her life reflected the values she held dear, and she carried herself with dignity and warmth in all seasons of life. She was guided by her Jewish faith, and the principles of compassion, family, and enduring remembrance shaped the way she lived each day.
Rachel’s early years in Stockton helped form the foundation of the woman she would become. Throughout her life she remained connected to the places that mattered most to her. She found joy in traveling, embracing the beauty of new places and the wonder of meeting the world with open eyes. She also gave of herself through volunteering, understanding that one of life’s highest callings is to serve others with sincerity and care. In these pursuits, she expressed the adventurous spirit that defined her and the kindness that touched so many.
Family was central to Rachel’s life. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Miner, whose memory remained close to her heart. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Yvonne Spade, and her husband, Mark, as well as by her grandson, Joseph Spade, who brought her great pride and joy. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Blanke, and her brothers, Jim Farley and Jack Farley. Rachel held each of them in deep affection, and the bonds she shared with her family were among the greatest blessings of her life. She also cherished her cat, Snowflake, whose companionship brought comfort and warmth to her home.
In the Jewish tradition, a life is honored not only by mourning its end, but by remembering the goodness it brought into the world. Rachel’s memory is a blessing to all who loved her. Her life was enriched by faith, family, and service, and her legacy will continue in the hearts of those who carry her name and cherish her story. May her memory be for a blessing, and may she be granted eternal rest in the loving embrace of God.
Though she is no longer with us in body, Rachel’s spirit remains present in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the example she set. Her family and friends will continue to remember her with gratitude, reverence, and love. In the quiet moments of remembrance, may they find comfort in the knowledge that her life was lived with meaning and that her memory will endure. May her soul be bound up in the bond of eternal life.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Agudas Achim Memorial Gardens, 1727 Austin Hwy. San Antonio, Texas 78218, at 5:00pm.
