MSGT Ralph “Andy” Anderson, Ret. USAF, loving husband, father, and grandfather entered into eternal rest on October 15, 2011 at the age of 76. Andy was born on October 12, 1935 to Harry and Laura Ella Anderson in Morrisville, PA. He loved to play baseball in high school where he was the captain of the team. After high school he played baseball as well for the intramural leagues in the Air Force. Andy honorably retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years of service. During his time in the service he was stationed in England, Florida, Washington D.C., Texas, Germany, and Vietnam. Andy had a passion to travel, garden, fish, visit museums, view art works, and also loved all kinds of music. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Janet Doherty Anderson; son, R. Michael Anderson and wife Margaret of Austin, TX; step-son, Christopher Doherty of Richmond, VA; step-grandchildren, Collin and Austin Doherty of Richmond, VA., Kayla Doherty of Las Vegas, NV. The family thanks the caregivers at Odyssey Hospice and Senior Bridge for their devotion in Andy’s final years. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
