

He practiced law in San Antonio for 66 years, most recently as the senior member of the law firm of Langley & Banack, Inc.
Mr. Langley served as president of the San Antonio Bar Association, director of the Sate Bar of Texas, chairman and one of six organizers of the School Law Section of the State Bar, Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and Master of the Bench in the William Sessions Chapter of the American Inns of Court.
In 1999, the San Antonio Bar Association awarded him its Joe Frazier Brown Award of Excellence "in recognition of outstanding leadership and service to members of the legal community and the citizens of Texas."
He served the city of San Antonio as chairman of the board of both the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the San Antonio Public Library System, as well as a member of its Charter Revision Commission and several Bond Study Groups appointed by the City Council.
Mr. Langley was a charter member of the Good Government League and instrumental in the adoption of the present Council Manager form of government.
He was president of KLRN/San Antonio and KLRV/Austin.
He was twice president of Oak Hills Country Club.
He graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas, attended Peacock Military Academy and the University of Chicago, and received his law degree from the University of Texas in Austin.
He is survived by his widow, Doris; by his daughter, Janis Langley Lakin and her husband Greg Lakin; by his granddaughters Courtney Lakin and Kate Lakin; Tracey Wilson Walling and husband Ben Walling; Rebecca Wilson Jackson and her husband Todd Jackson; and his great granddaughter, Ella Jane Walling.
Daughter Nancy Langley Wilson preceded him in death.
