Ramiro, age 82, lived a life of love and giving in service to his immediate and extended families. As a young man, at the age of 19, Ramiro came to Texas from General Zuazua, near Monterrey Nuevo Leon in 1950.
Arriving in San Antonio, he worked tirelessly as a district supervisor delivering milk for a local dairy, learning English along the way and getting an education in sales from the service that he provided his customers.
In 1961, Ramiro earned his licensure to sell life insurance for the Galveston-based group, American National Insurance Company. From 1961-2005, he opened new market territories, led the nation in sales and was promoted to District Sales Manager, earning the coveted President's award twice in his career along with numerous other awards and trophies.
Ramiro and his wife Alma were able to travel the world as part of his achievements in the insurance business, enjoying cites in Japan, Australia, Europe and South America.
An active member of the St. Paul Parish community and our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Ramiro was both devout and generous in his love for faith and community.
His greatest accomplishment was his love for la familia. He is honored as the patriarch of a great family whose admiration and respect for him will be his legacy. Through his kindness, he planted seeds that yielded abundant fruit for so many.
He never said never, and did the impossible without blinking an eye. Many consider him their second father.
He leaves a loving wife of 56 years, Alma, his beautiful and devoted daughter, Doria, who with her husband, Allan, gave Ramiro beautiful grandchildren, Beth and her husband Colin, Josh and Jacob who were his joy. He also was blessed with one great grandson, Liam.
As the second of twelve siblings, Ramiro will be remembered by his brothers, sisters and dozens of nephews and nieces and godchildren throughout South Texas and Mexico.
