After a decline in health, God our father decided it was time for grandpa join his family. In the early hours of January 21, 2016 at age 93 grandpa Ramon M. Rubio passed peacefully, but he was not alone. God gave his grandson Rudy, granddaughter Sarah & his great grandchildren the opportunity to be by his side to assure him that it was ok to go home. As he took his last breath, we could not help to want him back but we know he is in a better place.
Ramon M. Rubio was born on May 5, 1922 in Knippa Tx. He was preceded in death by his wife Amparo S. Rubio, his father Manuel Rubio and mother Margarita Martinez Rubio, siblings Ignacio, Juan, Gregorio Rubio & Nina Saucedo. Ramon is survived by his sister Maria Vargas, his children Ramon Rubio Jr (Rebecca), daughters Delia Torres (Julian) & Elena Ramirez (Carlos). He had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and even great great grandchildren. Let me tell you a little bit about grandpa, he was an Army Veteran; he bravely fought for his country in World War II. He enjoyed being outside fiddling with little projects that grandma would give him. He enjoyed having a cup of coffee every morning & without fail, he would take a drink then say, Mmmm, this is good coffee, Thank you God. Grandpa also enjoyed his visit from his son & daughter n law. I would say to him, Hey Grandpa, guess who is coming to see you today? He would shrug his shoulders and smile w/a chuckle, and then say, I don’t know, the president? I would laugh and say, No, but you’re pretty close. Ramon & Becky are coming. He really enjoyed his visit with them. Grandpa is defiantly going to be missed. His presence and laughter will remain in our hearts and soul for as long as we draw breath. He left us with so many memories that we will repeat in conversation throughout the years to come.
