Ramona G. Vega went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on December 23, 1928, in Barreda, Texas (San Benito) to Pedro and Dolores Gonzalez. She is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Abel B. Vega and Gilbert Vega; daughter, Lydia Sifuentes; 2 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her children; Sylvia Wong, Elvida Taylor, Daniel Vega, Roy Cardenas, Cynthia Young, Belinda Tapia, and Mona Cantu (Ronnie); 2 sisters; 23 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. Ms. Vega worked as a nurse provider for over 40 years with local nursing homes and the San Antonio State Hospital. She retired in 1993 from St. Joseph’s Community, now known as The Marianist Community at St. Mary’s University. She was the greatest mother in the world to 10 children and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
