Randy’s early life in Mineral, Illinois, was filled with farm-related work in which Randy, his father and brother were quite active. In 1963, the Harris family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where Randy graduated from W.B. Ray High School. He enjoyed the beach and was an avid surfer.
Randy was blessed with a daughter, Kara Harris Moreno and his son, Joseph Harris.
Professionally, Randy was a highly skilled contractor for major projects in California and Texas with his work being described by the owner of the companies as stellar. Randy was a perfectionist when it came to his work as a Supervisor/Contractor. He remodeled his sister and brother-in-law’s home single-handedly.
Randy had a gift when it came to his hobby of smoking briskets and pork loins on the grill. They were the best. He also had quite a sense of humor and a contagious laugh.
Randy is survived by his sisters, Carol Jean Harris, Sue Ann Harris Decoretz (Norm) and Robin Renee Harris Anderson (Ron) his daughter Kara Sue Harris Moreno and his son, Joseph Harris and granddaughter, Hailie. He is also survived by his loyal companion, Smokey (pet cat), of 16 years. Predeceased by his father, Joe Willard Harris, his mother, Esther Jean Harris Morgan, and his brother, David Joe Harris.
As Randy wished, he was cremated. His talents and accomplishments, however, will live forever. He is missed.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.SunsetNorthFuneralHome.com for the Harris family.
