

She was a military wife. She devoted her life to her husband and four sons. As often as they moved being in the military she always made a house a home. Family was the most important thing to her. She was born September 14, 1926 in Falfurrias, Texas to Antonio and Carolina Canales. She was preceded in death by her husband Leopoldo Saavedra and 6 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her sons Leonard and his wife Dawn, Leonel and his wife Debbie, Lee and his wife Natalie, Leo and his wife Yvette. She had 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm with a funeral service to begin at 4:30pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX. 78238. Followed by life celebration dinner at 7:00pm at Grady’s BBQ, 7400 Bandera Rd. San Antonio, TX. 78238. A committal service will be held on Thursday, January 27th at 10 am Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX. 78209.
