

He was born in Cementville, Texas on May 17, 1924 to parents, Teofilo Martinez and Manuelita Mata Martinez.
He attended school at the Bluebonnet Schools and received his G.E.D. at San Antonio Tech. Mr. Martinez married Beatrice B. Martinez in 1945 and served in the 3rd Army, 7th Infantry from Casa Blanca to Austria.
He received the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and lost his best friend at Anzio Beachead.
He was employed with Alamo Cement for 45 years. Mr. Martinez was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He was in the Bluebird Auxiliary and served as a volunteer for Wesley Community Center for many years as well as the VA Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Teofilo and Guillermo Martinez.
Survivors: loving wife, Beatrice; loving sister and brothers; children, Raul St. John Rosario, Dianne Gonzales Richard, Elaine Herrera Andres and Audry Salas Richard; grandchildren: Kimberly Wells, Richard Gonzales, Leslie Gonzales, Andy Herrera, Evie Amador, Jayme Gonzales, Brian Salas, and Raul Bill Martinez; great-grandchildren: Jordan, David, and Roman Gonzales, Kailynn Wells and Stone Amador. Pallbearers will be: Andrew Herrera, Raul Martinez, Richard Gonzales, Brian Salas, Nathan Wells and Jordan Gonzales
