Ray Hernandez

He attended and received his Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan and his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Saginaw Valley State University.

Ray worked in the field of higher education for 30 years and was most recently employed with Alamo Colleges from 2005 to 2021, serving as adjunct professor at San Antonio College. In 2020, he completed a fellowship for educational policy through Texas Tech in 2020 and completed ALAS, a professional leadership course through Alamo Colleges. He won awards at Palo Alto college for his leadership in recruiting the highest number of students, and won numerous from San Antonio College for recruitment in Dual Credit.

He was preceded in death by, his grandfather, Manuel Hernandez Sr., (2003), Grandmother, Juanita V. Hernandez, (2016), aunt Linda Hernandez Garcia, (2006), uncle, Mike Serrata, (2008), aunt, Dominga Diaz (2018). Ray is survived by his children; Alexander Rey Hernandez, Mariesa Reneé Hernandez, parents: Manuel V. Hernandez & Porfiria Hernandez, sister Brenda Hernandez Daraiseh, brother: Orlando Hernandez.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
