

Col. Brown was a veteran of WWII as a B24 Command Pilot. Following WWII, he commanded Fighter Squadrons in Germany and the United States and served as Base Commander at Grand Forks AFB and Randolph AFB.
He retired as Vice Commander of the Air Training Wing at Randolph AFB in January 1970.
He was the Recipient of the Legion of Merit and the Distinguished Flying Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a member of the Air Force Association, Daedalians, American Legion, Military Officers Association of America, USAA Golden Eagles and the 34th Bomber Group Association.
He was a resident of Air Force Village II.
Col. Brown is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Harriet Reed Brown and brother, Roland R. Brown. He is survived by his sons: Col. Thomas L. Brown, USA Ret. and wife, Norma of Laredo, TX; Gerald R. Brown and wife, Marion of Lewisville, TX and John S. Brown and wife, Julie of San Marcos, TX; daughter, Elizabeth A.Van Syckle and husband, Michael of Corpus Christi, TX; three grandchildren: Mindy Lynn Noonan and husband, Tom of Baltimore, MD; Christian T. Brown of Oklahoma City, OK; and Meredith Rae Van Syckle of Corpus Christi, TX; nephew, Edward Farrand of Kansas City, MO; niece, Shelley Brown Griffin of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; and his close friend and companion, Hazel Bunker.
