Raymond A. Cervantes

Raymond was a man who found joy in simple pleasures, good company, and the traditions that shaped who he was. He had a deep love for fishing and often traveled to Corpus Christi to spend peaceful days by the water, doing what he enjoyed most. Raymond was also passionate about baseball. He played on an amateur team known as The Rebels, a team he was very proud to be part of. He was a talented player and always carried that pride with him. When he wasn’t fishing or playing baseball, Raymond enjoyed playing bingo, horseshoes, and poker, and he never passed up the excitement of a good game. He also enjoyed gambling and shared special moments with his son during trips to Kickapoo and casinos in Louisiana, where they played the slot machines together. Music was another joy in Raymond’s life, especially oldies that brought back fond memories.

Raymond was deeply proud of his Native American heritage, holding it close to his heart and honoring it throughout his life. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his competitive spirit, and the meaningful time he spent with family and friends.

He will be reunited in heaven with his parents, Ofelia and Ramon Cervantes; wife, Sylvia Cervantes; siblings, Gilbert “Humphrey” Cervantes, Leticia Gonzales; and niece, Gina Fonceca.

Junio’s memory will forever live in his sons, Jason Cervantes (Sabrina) and Jacob Cervantes; grandchildren, Daniel, Faith, Jasmine, Laelani, Jacob Jr., Jacklyn, Josiah; great-grandchildren, Amelia. Siblings, Danny Cervantes, Frank Cervantes (Eva), Jessie Cervantes (Terry), Rosie Avila (Raul), Teresa Gomez (James), and Catharine Cervantes (Rubie); 18 nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on January 28, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will take place at the same location on January 28, 2026, at 7:00 pm. The Mass of The Resurrection will be held at San Juan De Los Lagos Parish, 3231 El Paso St, San Antonio, TX 78207, on January 29, 2026, at 10:00 am.
