I don't know if you remember me but I am Anna Olvera and I knew Ray from Scholl in Chicago. I am also from San Antonio. Ray introduced me to y'all and I introduced my folks to y'all. I am deeply saddened by Ray's passing. Although I hadn't spoken to him in a few years, I have always remembered to Ray to have such a wonderful charismatic heart and always gave of himself without any expectations or rewards. He was warm and sweet. Ray, some other classmates, and I used to hang out a lot in downtown Chicago. Ray was a lot of fun. This is a great loss in our podiatric profession. If we had more people like Ray in this world, it would be a much safer and happier place. 

Ray, we love ya. May your blessed and gentle soul rest in peace.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;

'Since the fist time i met Ray I renamed him Joe. I dont remember why I called him Joe, maybe because he was always doing Joe Peci impersonations from the movies "Goodfellas" or "Casino". Ray was one of my first choices to be a grooms man at my wedding last year, and one of the best friends I have ever had. You would always know when he arrived at any function because the room would always burst with laughter and smiles. If you were down or close to tears he could make you laugh about the problem, if you lost all your cash at black jack he would join you looking for lose change on the casino floor in a failed attempt to go to the penny slots an try to win more cash, and if you were already having a good day or good time he made that day or time 100% better. For those close to him know what I mean. I know he's with the Lord Jesus Christ right now calling me a little girl, crying as I write this. I love you Joe, Ill see you again one day in heaven.'
