Raymond Mikel Westwood

Raymond Mikel Westwood passed away on June 29, 2017 surrounded by love and family. He was born in San Antonio on December 29, 1941 to Raymond Jerome and Ellen Elizabeth (Mikel) Westwood. He was an amazing son, husband, father, Papa, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 50 years, daughter Cynthia, son-in-law Tobias, son Craig, daughter-in-law Robin, and six grandchildren: Mikelah, Megan, Jacob, Katelyn, Theo, and Madelyn. He was a Lt. in the U.S. Navy for 2 years. He was an accomplished Oral Surgeon in San Antonio for 38 years and was a member of numerous professional organizations, several of which he held leadership roles. His hobbies included family, travel, participation in San Antonio Fiesta activities and heritage, gardening, landscaping, model trains, miniature riding trains, missionary work, stained glass, photography, gourmet cooking, carpentry, metal work, repairing and building all things, just to name a few.

A memorial service will be held at Sunset Memorial Home on July 30 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations could be made to San Antonio District Dental Society or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
