Rebecca A Losoya

Rebecca Aparicio Losoya died peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the age of 89. She was born February 28, 1922 in Taylor, Texas. Rebecca’s parents, Gorgonio Aparicio, a Pentecostal Minister, and Maria de Jesus Blanco were both immigrants and were migrant farm workers. Her father and Mother died in the late 1920s. Rebecca and the children, ages 6 – 10, were taken and cared for by La Trinidad Methodist Church in San Antonio and Holding Institute in Laredo, where she graduated.She returned to San Antonio, where she met and married her life partner Basilio Y. Losoya. They were married for 67 years until his death in July 2011. She leaves behind 7 Children, Alfredo, Raul, Belinda, Alma, Gilbert, David and Rebecca as well as 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was a caring, loving and nurturing Mother who instilled in her children to succeed in life. Visitation will begin Tuesday October 4, 2011, from 6-9pm and on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 9am-9pm with prayer service beginning a 7pm at Trevino’s Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 am church service at El Divino Salvador United Methodist Church, 1701 W. Woodlawn, followed by interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11am where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
